Cosmetic Tattooing & Saline Removal
To allow us the best opportunity to obtain brilliant results please follow the below pre care steps before your appointments and follow the aftercare strictly. Any medication that you have been advised to take by your doctor must be in your consultation form and verbalised to staff at the time of your booking.
The below steps are to be taken for all cosmetic tattoo or removal procedures. You will also find extra steps within a specific category where required.
Avoid alcohol , caffeine and Ibuprofen for 24 hours before treatment.
Please DO NOT use any skincare with the following ingredients 1-2 weeks before your treatment: retinal, AHA, vitamins A,C and E agents
Please do not take any fish oil tablets prior to your appointment
No cosmetic injectables 4 weeks prior to your appointment
No harsh skin treatments for a minimum of 7 days before treatment. e.g skin needling, microdermabrasion, peels etc.
Please avoid any spray tan on the area or sunburn.
Avoid any brow maintenance treatments 4-5 days before your appointment. This is inclusive of a tint /dye /henna.
If possible wash your hair the night before.
Ensure you are using hydrating skincare products that are also promoting the health of your skins lipid barrier. (Contact us if you would like further information or recommendations)
Lip Tattooing
Whether you have or haven’t had a cold sore before it is important to know that the virus may be lying dormant within your body. When we are performing a lip tattoo this can generate your body’s immune response to kick in, possibly resulting in a cold sore breakout. This is completely normal and advised by Ivory Rose Cosmetics that you go to the doctor before your appointment to receive an antiviral medication. We recommend taking this medication 2 days before treatment, the day of and for 2-3 days post treatment. Please ensure you are seeking medical advice pre treatment.
Keep your lips as hydrated as possible
Perform a gentle lip scrub 2 days before your appointment
Bring along your favourite lippy, liner or inspirational picture for us to colour match for you.
Tattoo Removal
If removing from the lips please follow the same pre care for cold sore treatment.
Do not exfoliate the area of removal 1 week pre treatment.
No waxing near or on the area for a minimum of 1 week pre treatment, ideally 2 weeks would be preferred.
Eyeliner Tattoo
Remove any contact lenses or eyelash extensions before your appointment. You will also need to use only your glasses whilst your tattoo is healing rather than contacts.
Stop using any lash growth serums 2 weeks pre treatment.
If any of the above apply to you within the time frame stated to avoid, please contact us as soon as you can to reschedule. Please keep in mind our business’s rescheduling/cancellation policy; a minimum of 24 hours is required to change your appointment to allow us time to fill this gap or adjust our staff’s schedules. If your appointment is cancelled within this time frame the deposit on file will be used as a late cancellation fee.
