Teeth Whitening Pre Care

Pre-Treatment Guidelines for Teeth Whitening

  • Please brush your teeth before your appointment.

  • Avoid any mouth wash 24 hours prior as it may cause sensitivity to your gums.

  • Avoid foods and drinks that may stain your teeth for at least 24 hours prior.

Who is a good candidate for teeth whitening?

Most people can benefit from teeth whitening, but consider the following:

✔️ Teeth with yellow or brown tones tend to whiten best.
✔️ Gray or bluish-gray teeth may not respond as well to treatment.
✔️ Multi-colored teeth (especially from tetracycline use) may not whiten evenly.
✔️ Those with significant gum disease are not ideal candidates.
✔️ If you are pregnant, consult your doctor before undergoing whitening.
✔️ If your teeth are already very white, results may be minimal.

Any current restoration you have, such as, fillings, porcelain crowns, onlays and inlays cannot be whitened, this process will remove any surface stains that have gathered on existing dental work.
